As far back as 2008 PS4 and the whole new generation of gaming consoles was already being talked about in the public eye! Gamers and developers alike were just beginning to harness the current gaming console generation (PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, etc) and companies were already hard at work again to develop the next generation of consoles.
While none of the major companies (Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft) are answering questions or speaking yet, it already is looking like graphics are going to be on the forefront of the improvements. After playing some PS3 video games I’m not sure how graphics can get much better, but apparently they can. As early as July 2008 companies like Nvidia (who powers the PS3 and original Xbox), Intel, and Advanced Micro Devices.
Then again this is all purely speculation at this point as no one knows anything about what might become of the next generation of gaming consoles. In a Forbes article, the President of Sony is quoted as saying “As far as next generation is concerned, I think one of the distinct advantages that we have is we don’t have to go in a specific direction,” he says. “I don’t think the fact that we have a high-end machine keeps us from doing bite-sized casual entertainment. I don’t think we’re relegated to PC shooters or youth-oriented casual games. We can span the gamut.”
Of course, as a PlayStation fanboy and ever looking forward to the PS4 this is quite mind boggling. It leave the whole thing completely open for interpretation… one thing is for sure though, this next generation will have some amazing revolutionary features. After all, with the recent release of 3d TV and these consoles not releasing sometime between 2010-2018, we better see some amazing improvements! Playstation 4 games
