Fenbendazole Capsules

Fenbendazole is a safe, broad-spectrum anthelmintic. It blocks the ability of parasites to produce energy and ultimately starves them. The drug is ingested orally and can be given in granule, liquid, chew or capsule form. It can also be mixed with your pet’s food for convenience and better absorption. This dewormer works best on small worms and can be used to treat dogs, cats, and rabbits. The medicine is also available under veterinary supervision to treat Giardia, lungworms, and whipworms in livestock such as sheep and cattle.

Unlike most anthelmintics, the benzimidazole class of drugs (which fenbendazole belongs to) has not been reported to alter the sensitivity of tumor cells to radiation or other commonly used chemotherapeutic agents such as taxanes and vinca alkaloids. Furthermore, in the experiments shown in Table I, the time it took for unirradiated EMT6 tumors to grow from their initial volume to four times that initial volume was not altered by three fenbendazole treatments administered one day before, two hours before and after irradiation.
